This is one of a series of paintings I made in my studio after spending time in the Australian bush. Woven Forest describes the way branches and undergrowth become tangled and intertwined. It also refers to the unseen networks beneath the ground with fungi weaving their way through and around roots. The palette I used reflects the many colours within the bark of gum trees and reflections in water.
